Rectangular table top. “Bird and butterfly.” Marbles and hard stones. Board decorated with a central motif of a perched bird and butterfly surrounded by a shield with scrolls and branches, highlighted with a frame with scrollwork, aventurated shapes in the corners, lacework, little flowers and fruits. Both stylistically and technically, it is inspired by examples made in Italy after the development of hard stone inlay in the 16th century, which spread throughout Europe due to its value.
